How lovely are these photographs! I was so in love with all of them as i flipped through the catalog. The warm tones and beautiful lighting are perfection. Oh and of course the clothing is lovely as well, as always. Each piece is so feminine and bohemian, seriously, I'm in love. I was even more thrilled to see the shoot took place in Paris! It makes me so excited to go. Less than two months!

At school once again. I'm not really excited about that either. I had such a great break, although it was very stressfull. So over break and from christmas and such I have collected Eiffel tower things. I received this necklace from my boyfriend. I got a charm bracelet with a Eiffel charm on it as a gift as well. I got a travel journal. And other little things as well. It's all making me SO excited. I have little pictures of Paris on my dorm walls and it all just makes me feel over overwhelmingly lucky every time i look at them. Not to mention I'm going for free, which is so crazy.

Oh and excuse the crappy mac book pictures for now, I'm trying to find a way to take normal photos. My dorm is a bit dark unfortunately...

So I haven't blogged in months. I've just been really busy. My mom broke her shoulder and i had to drive her places and then Christmas and I work in retail which means I was working non stop and all the usual excuses.

So, I'm a photography major but I haven't been taking pictures, like ever. It's pathetic. So i did a few self portraits (the plans with the models I had fell through). So yea, thats what this is. Nothing special. I was just working with contrast and natural light and what not. So yea. Thats it, I'm off to class soon. Have a wonderful Wednesday =]

Not too special of an outfit or anything, but an outfit post none the least! I have been really busy with school lately, as you can see, so I haven't been blogging at all. But, I plan on starting up again. It's hard to balance school and other hobbies and such but I'm starting to get the hang of it more.
Anyway, I have decided to go to Paris! My school offers this thing called Spring Preview to freshman to introduce them to studying abroad. There are about 7 places we can choose to for a week and i chose Paris. I'm so excited. It's a super cheap deal too. The whole package (including food, plane tickets, and a place to stay) coasts less than half of the plane tickets alone. Any one been to Paris? Or anywhere else abroad?

Yea so it was my birthday today. I feel so old! It's weird because i still feel like just a kid. Last night Brian and I went to Philly for dinner. It was super yummy. But then again anything beats stinky college food. Today on my actual birthday I did homework most of the day unfortunately (just so happens all my classes have major assignments due this week). But then my friends surprised me with a cake and balloons! It was so cute. They even attached big bags of my favorites candies on the bottom of the balloons as weights. Yeuppp so it was a pretty good birthday.

So, I finally got around to doing outfit pictures, yay! I had the studio lights set up all weekend while I was home so I just quickly did some shots there. I'm hoping to be a better blogger soon and actually keep up with it. I just got a tumblr and thats going to be a more photography/art based kind of blog. But anyways I had a great weekend home! I had an eye doctor oppointment and I discovered I need glasses! But I'm ok with that as long as i can see better glasses are fine with me.

I'm getting really pumped for my photograph dress. The assignment is to create a sort of super hero/ alter ego for yourself and my super hero person is called The Problem Solver. Basically she helps people solve their problems. Theres a lot more to it but I'll explain that when i post the finished project. There is even going to be a fashion show of all the art students wearable art and apparently its a big event on campus so I'm really excited.

Campus and photo club

Ello fellow bloggers! I'm excited to finally be posting again. I've been busy and wearing comfy non-interesting outfits lately so I havn't had anything to post. But I'm now in my schools photography club which is forcing me not to be lazy and take a few photos every week for discussion. This week we just took portraits, nature shots, and a random shot . I didn;t have much time at all this weekend because my boyfriend came up to visit so this is most definitely not my best work but I thought I'd share anyway!

This is the artsy part of campus. That building with the clock tower is where a few of my classes are held. It's my favorite building besides the castle. This was not part of my photo club assignment I just wanted to show you all my favorite part of campus. What makes it really special is that hundreds and hundreds of birds gather in this area every evening and sing so loudly that they can be heard on the other side of campus. Sometimes I even get the pleasure of seeing them flying in loops all together in unison and it's one of the most beautiful things I have seen in a while. I plan on bringing my camera up there to photograph them soon.

Here is what I did for photo club, its nothing special but it's somethin:

Here I tried to do a radial blur which is where you slow your shutter speed and focus your camera tightly at the subject with a semi low aperture and rotate the camera as you take the picture. I probably didn't explain that very well, but if your interested in trying it yourself I'll explain it better if ya want.

Yeup. So I'm going to actually be doing a lot of portrait work this weekend because one of my art projects, which ill further explain later, involves a dress covered in portraits. Im super excited about it and were hosting a fashion show and everything. So I'll be posting more photographs later next week! Hope you all had a great weekend =]

This dress I'm wearing is probably the best thing I have ever bought. Especially considering it was only 9$. I found it on my birthday while shopping in a small town with my mom and before I even saw the price I knew i had to have it. It's super comfy and the material is really nice and I dont know i just love it. hehehe =]

So I went home this weekend for labor day. I wasn't originally going to come home from school this quick but everyone was going home on campus so i decided i would visit home. I went home by train and it was quite confusing because I had to take two different ones to get where I needed to go. I got a little lost and it took a little longer than expected but I successfully got home. I met up with zee boyfriend in Philly and we did a bit of shopping. I got this sweater on sale at anthropologie. They had SOO much cute things on sale, winter/fall stuff included so I'd advise you to go to the one nearest to you and take a look.
The second day I was home everyone wanted to feed me (I haven't been eating much here at school due to gross food and lack of food for vegetarians) so Brian took me out for lunch then my parents took me out for dinner. I was so stuffed by the end of the day.

Any way, college has been getting a little better. Im still not completely used to living here but i guess that will just come with time. Thanks to everybody for their supporting comments.

So this is me trying to do an outfit post with out a tripod or anyone to take pictures of me yet. Here is where I previously styled the dress and the photos are MUCH better. Any way, so college has been alright. Still having a little trouble making friends. I think it's because most people already have a little clique or group of friends, it's weird. I feel like if your not very talkative and outgoing here it's hard to make friends. There are a few people I connected with though, all of which were quitely sitting alone so I decided to join them because no one really wants to sit alone, you know? I'm not one to enjoy hanging out in a large group anyway. I like a smaller group of close friends rather than a large group of just people to hang out with.

But anyway, my first day of classes is tomorrow! I have a studio art lecture class and a regular studio and drawing class. I'm actually kind of excited. Finally I get the entire day of learning a subject I'm actually interested in!

So I've been here for two days about. I've been having a lot of fun but I still haven't made much friends. I do how ever have an awesome roomate. She is super nice and easy going so thats made staying here a little better.

As far as my dorm itself goes, I forgot to bring stuff for the walls like pictures and such to make it pretty. So I'll do more decorating when I get that stuff together. I'm actually a big fan of interior decorating so I'm going to try to put together something nice.

But yea thats all I have to say. I have been having a difficult time with the outfit posts being here because I have very little time and i have no one to take photos of me orrr a tripod. But once I get a photographer settled after I hopefully make a few friends there are BEAUTIFUL locations for photo shoots. There is an amazing castle on campus and the inside is fantastic. So hopefully you'll being seeing that all that soon. But any way I hope everyone is having a smooth transition into your school year!

So I am back from the beach. I had SO much fun even though it rained most of the time. Brian and I went mini golfing then to an arcade the first night we were down. I got three holes in one! But I'm no good at mini golf it was all luck. At the arcade we played deal or no deal except the prize was tickets instead of money. It was so fun. We love to watch that show because the people on it are so crazy and have so much personalty, it's quite entertaining. So we put on a little show for all waiting to play the game and we made exciting gestures when we picked good cases and booed when we picked bad ones. We ended p getting 215 tickets! Which was actually a bad deal because we had the case with the most tickets you could receive which was 400 tickets. I got a mini shoe keychain with the tickets and we had tons more tickets left after that so we gave them away to this little girl. She flipped out when we gave them to her. She ran around the arcade with the tickets draped around her screaming. It was too cute. Then to end the fun filled night we watched Alice in Wonderland and ate peach pie. Fun fun fun.

I didn't take any pictures because it rained pretty much the whole time. I'll try to get back to doing regular outfit posts although it will be hard because I'm getting ready to move away in less than a week!

I woke up feelin pretty sassy today (despite the fact i knew it was a cleaning day). So i dressed the part. As I was going through old CD's to play while I cleaned I came across my beloved N*SYNC. It was their very first album back when Justin still had those frosted tip curls. Haha, oh the hair styles of the 90's... I remember I'd obsess over how cute Justin looked on the bed of the tearin up my heart video as he sang to me through the television screen. I watched this dvd as i was folding clothes of some of their hit videos from when i was little and it reminded me of how cheezy the late 90's were. The best video was the this i promise you. I couldn't stop laughing at first. They had all the boys walking around in the forrest in turtleneck sweaters while singing and playing with bubbles... haha. I think their producers were trying a bit too hard to show Justin's sensitive side. But by the end of the video, oddly enough, I was falling for Justin's charm. HORRIBLE i know... Okay enough with this nsync rant.

But anyways, I wont be posting any time soon because I'll be leaving for the Pocanos tomorow. Wo0o00O!!! I'll probably take a lot of pictures and ill try to do one or two outfit shoots while I'm there. Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!

I just stay around the house all day drawing and playing outside with my puppy until my very short work shift at five. I have been enjoying all the time to myself although it's starting to get rather boring. My mom's on jury duty and brian has been preparing for this big show (he's opening for swimming with dolphins) leaving me all alone. Thank goodness I'll be going away soon again. I was supposed to do a photo shoot with this dance company today but there was a mix up. Still craving to take some photos, i decided to do a self portrait. As I expressed in my previous post I'm weary about moving away (although all your comments really did help me feel better and I really appreciate you all!). I've been feeling confused, scared, excited, and so many other emotions it's a weird feeling. So the title I thought would be "Clouded" due my confusing and mixed emotions. I used the double exposure effect to create an illusion that my face is clouded. How i did this was I took a picture of myself then of a sheer white curtain and the curtain was fuzed over top of the photo of myself. Then I did some soft focusing effects in photo shop and added a bit of cooler tones.

So I went shopping yesterday!! For the first time in a long time, well a long to for me at least which is about a little over a month I'd say. I bought mostly fall clothes so you probably will not be seeing me wearing them for a while due to the horrible heat.

I will be moving out of my house for the first time ever in my life in three weeks and I am freaking out just a bit. It's just a weird thought. And I'm not too sure of how college dorm life will treat me but I have a feeling I won't be to fond of it. I'm most likely having a three person dorm room, which is the same size as a two person dorm but with more furniture and one more person. GAHHH. I haven't even received my roomates yet which makes me more nervous. This summer has gone by SOOO fast. Way way to fast.

Photo shoot!

Meet the lovely Elona, the model for my shoot today.

With this shoot I just wanted to concentrate on lighting. I wanted really bright and natural kind of photos. I'm lacking creative idea's for shoots these days but I still need to practice so I thought that would be a good way to keep up with shooting.

Elona was very easy to work with I barely had to direct her, she is a wonderful model.

So, the necklace I mentioned in my previous post was actually 175$, not 275$, but expensive none the less. This is the necklace from Free People:

And here is my 25$ version. The neat thing with this is you can change the necklace whenever you want. All I did was simply pin and clip the pendant to the chain and vwa-la! You can change the pendents and ribbon to match your outfit and what not too. Once I get more broaches and things I would like to change it a bit.

I was feeling quite down today. So my boyfriend and I took a trip to Philly and I purchased this lovely thing to perk myself up. I've always been a HUGE panda lover so this fit in well with my collection. Isn't it just so cute =] Panda's could just perk up anyone's day and if they don't you have no soul. Hehe not really, but how could you resist they're cute liddle faces without smiling.

Every time I wear these shorts I can't help from feeling self conscious. For the longest time I struggled with being confident in my own skin and it was until about a year or so ago I shed my shy, self conscious self. Though sometimes, like most girls these days, I have those kind of days where I just lack some needed confidence. The number one thing I was never happy with about myself was my legs and in these shorts there's no hiding them. I was always playing sports growing up, so I've always had larger legs. I was weary about even getting the shorts because it brought back that insecurity but my boyfriend persuaded me they look great on me and I figured that if i bought them I'd be forced to wear them (they were a little out of my price range) and therefore I'd have to ignore my stupid leg issue. And well, by the end of the day I totally forgot how short my shorts were. =]

I had an absolutely lovely day filled with photographs, antique shops, and laying around outside on a perfect summer day. I really havn't picked up my camera and really took some photo's in sooo long. It was nice and I'm going to start doing it more often.

Now to the outfit I wore...

NOooo again with the underline, i dont know how to fix it... it just happens randomly sometimes. Any way. Please excuse my goofy expression. That is what most of my pictures ever look like. I just feel awkward when I have my picture taken... even when im the one taking the picture.

My boyfriend just got back from utah and i was showered with lovely gifts!

I just love dream catchers and I do have a small collection. So of course I love the gifts. I just thought I'd share them because they are so lovely. And because I was bored and decided to take pictures of them.

This week I bought a sun flower at the farmers market. I just love flowers and photographing them. I especially love sun flowers. I hope to one day have a whole bunch of them blossoming around my back yard.

These are some of my favorite digital pictures that I have taken that represents the kind of photos I enjoy creating. I must say my film stuff is much better and I generally like working with film much better but a lot of my stuff is too big to scan and the pictures I have taken of them are crappy so I will not be posting them. Although I think some of them were posted with the pavas show post. I really havn't done a real planned and thought out shoot in so long it's killing me. BUT I might do a shoot with this dance company soon and they encourage my creativity so I am very excited.

Excuse my crappy looking self, I tend not to wear much make up, or do my hair, pr try to wear nice outfits on vacation. Especially vacations where I'm hiking or doing a lot of physical activity. Also excuse the fact that this is all underlined, I'm sure sure how to fix it.

I did in fact finally take real photographs with a real non-point-and-shoot camera! I used my film camera though, so the pictures will not be posted until developed. Which might take a while because I have no money, as usual. Actually I have two rolls that need developing. O-vwellll...

Anyway, I had so much fun finally getting outside! It's been sooooooo hot wear I live, like 100+ degrees, so they fresh mountain air was a perfect relief. We went hiking and floated in the lake. It was a very relaxing and nice vacation. I was so sad to leave especially because we were only up two and a half days. Hopefully I'll be back there in august!

I have yet to do anything productive still. I think about taking pictures all the time. I havn't done a photoshoot in SO LONG and I have the resources. I have models I can use and everything. And I see locations all the time that I'd love to take pictures of. So I'm blaming my laziness on the heat. I'm going to the Pocanoes soon (north east america along a mountain range, for those who arnt familiar) and it's very pretty there so i will take pictures although they wont be of models, I'll still be taking pictures.

I guess you can call this my self portrait of the week. I'm going to start that again and hopefully actually keep up with it this time! I wanted to get a kind of messy film kind of picture out of this one. I tried to make this look like it had a light leak and lots of grain and contrasty colors on photoshop. I added a cloud texture just because I liked it. And i wanted it to look kind of just like a snap shot that wasnt set up. I dont know....

I made this necklace out of boredom. I used charms and pendants from old jewelry I don't wear any more. That center broach there is vintage past down to me from my step-dad's grandmother. The rest is just poop from target, UO, and Jo Ann Fabric's.

Im not sure why everything is underlined right now but it's really bothering me and I don't know how to fix it at the moment. O-well...

Anyway, I would normally NEVER EVER EVER wear shorts this short. Or anything this revealing in general but I really wanted high wasted shorts and I was getting 30% off because my friend works there and my boyfriend really liked them so i got them. I tend to be a little self conscience of my curves, especially my legs so wearing these shorts made me feel a little uncomfertable but I'm trying to be more confident with what I got so I ignored those feelings. Plus I'm starting to fell more in love with the 40's and 50's so high-wasted shorts seemed necessary in my wordrobe (gah, i need a dictionary...).

It feels so weird to be graduating. As much as I've always said I dislike high school I'm really going to miss some of the people I got to know. Some of my teachers and friends that I've gotten used to seeing every morning I might not see ever again after I go away to school and it's just weird. Plus I've grown so much over my past four years of high school, this year especially, and it's hard to believe I have to put them all behind me.

Although I am a tad upset about graduating, I am very excited for next year to pursue a degree in photography and marketing. I'm planning on visiting Ireland and study abroad in Italy while in college. The school I'm gong to has HUGE study abroad program so I'm most excited to do a lot of traveling.

Hmmm, well thats about all I have to say about that for now... I meant for this blog to be mostly about photography to motivate me to shoot more, but so far that has not been working out. Hopefully I'll get less lazy once I'm done with all this graduation stuff and I'll actually have more time to do things like that.

So that was the 1940's antique dress I've been blogging about. Although it was from the 40's I was trying to go for a more early 1900's kind of look. After my mom and I bought the dress we though we should go with a titanic theme and I should play up looking like Rose. We wanted to get a top hat for my boyfriend but that ended up not working out. Im glad I've been actually keeping up with this commitment i made. It's been about three weeks since I've made this blog, and I've been doing a self portrait each weeeeekkk =] They've been unorganized and not really thought out or planned before i did them, but I don't have enough time for that.

Ya, so thats it. There's not much i feel that I can say about this. I just wanted to get a kind of crazed kind of look at first, i teased my hair and stuff. I chose this expression out of all the shots because i thought it seemed more than kind of like I'm crazy but like I'm searching for something more. I dont know...

I've been working on this research paper and it's on post avatar depression and all the articles said that the people ho have it were looking for something more and all so i guess this is for those people. I guess that was subconsiously my inspiration.

I shot again with the 120 film.

These were the digital shots I took. I was a tad careless and impateint when doing these. I was hot and frustrated with myself. I'm not very good at communicating with people that I'm shooting. I need more practice.

I wish i had changed the background back to white for these. I mean i like the lace but i dont know. I've been really indecisive and unorganized and just in a daze lately. So I'm just going to be done talking about this.

So Brian wassss going to help me with a photoshoot today but we were too lazy. Then i felt bad that i didnt do it so i tried on my own and i came up with this:

I dont really like how i pieced it together but ill fix it later. I was messing with it for a while and i was getting frustrated. I wanted to get a clean kind of look for this. I scrubbed off all my make-up and pulled my hair back and tried to get as much lighting as possible, which was hard in my fairly dark room. I originally wanted to do a shoot outside and hang up sheets on clothes lines and go from there. Today would have been a perfect day, the whether was beautiful, BUT i ended up taking a two hour nap (by accident)... o wvelllll.

Monday I'm going to re-do the 120 film studio light thing project. Ill deffendly get a clean look with that photoshoot because ill have lighting and a model. It;s always hard to be aware of lighting when your modeling and taking the picture so I always prefer using models. So im quite excited.

Iv'e been following this girls flikr for a while now and her style of photography is amazing. Her photos are so clean and birght and the lighting is always incredible. For my next shoot I'm going to make things a little simpler and focus on the lighting. I want to do a really bright and just airy kind of feel. I tried doing this for my photo class for school when we worked with studio lights and 120 film BUT MY FILM GOT ALL MESSED UP! The developer was exhausted and i used a broken thermoniter and i nder developed it. It sucks because i never messed up a roll of film till this one and i deffenly jinxed myself because a few days before i developed i said i never messed up developing before. GAHhhhhh. But I'll shoot again monday. Untill then I'm going to get my boyfriend help me do some self portraits outside.

Soooo, I'm a big free people fan. I've been wanting this particular top for a while hoping it'll eventually go on super sale. The best i found it was at Loehmans (spelling?) for forty dollars. This is a little more than i wanted to spend. I was think maybe I'd buy it for thirty, cause i mean, it's only a tank top, although it is hand embroirdered (GAH sorry, i reallllyyy cant spell, im not stupid i promise). So, I'm debating whether or not to keep it. Keep or no? Help?

Please excuse my demonic look. I get quite excited around my cat salem. She hates me for giving her too much love, so when i actually get to hold her with out her attempting to claw me, its always a good day. But i just dont get why she cant except my love....

My intentions for this didn't quiet follow through as much as I hoped. This is mostly because I am not the greatest model and I was really grossed out with standing in this puddle of dirty warm water and mud. I was planning on getting all muddy and doing some head shots and stuff. I wanted to do like a doll kind of little girl type thing. I don't know. I can't describe what I was going for.... I'm not the greatest with translating my thoughts into words. Over all, and even though it didn't come out how I intended, I kinda like this photo.

Studio day

FInallly, I have taken some pictures to talk about. Welll, today was studio day in my photography class at school and we basically just took photos of each other with the studio lights. We used medium format cameras and i took a few with my digital camera. I was a tad disapointed(spelling?) with how mine turned out but i felt rushed because a lot of people needed to shoot after me. Plus, I have studio lights and I felt selfish taking too much time up if most of the people in my class never even used studio lights before, you know? Well here are a few shots from today...

yeaaaa, so thasss it! well at least these are my favorite ones. the rest are crap OR just messing around with people for fun and shtuff. I wanted to go for an honest simple kind of feel. I would have preferred white background at first, but after seeing how they turned out on black Im glad I used it. Gahh what else to say? I got this blog so i could learn how to talk about my photos and I'm already doing a crappy job.. Oooo vweelll.

I just bought some pretty nice gloves from etsy for prom. They're black, long, and lacey, just how I wanted. The description said they're from a 1970's opera. Here's a picture:

It's a crappy picture but i'll take a better one when they arrive.

I'm actually planning, what I think to be, an awesome photoshoot. I'm going to have my whole prom vintage get up on and I'm not sure where it'll be. I need to find a good location. BUT I'm going to print it on glass and make it look almost like one of those glass negatives from back in the day. I'm pretty pumped to see how it all works out.

Prom was fun. Although im really excited for my prom (this was my boyfreinds prom) BECAUSE im wearing the best dress ever. it's from the 1940's but it looks like the dress from titanic. that red one Rose wore before she attempted to jump off the boat. IM SO EXCITED. It was only $130 too. and for an antique dress in perfect condition is a crazzyy good deal. im going to get lace elbow legnth gloves too and it'll be just fabulous. im trying to persaude Brain to wear a top hat or somthin too.

So, i guess my first official post will be somewhat fashion related.

My friend from school is helping me get a job at american apparel and i had to take pictures of myself because they need them when hiring. Apperantly they only hire people that are some-what good looking and that wear their style of clothing. Here is the mess i came up with:

please excuse the blue bra strap. i didnt realize until after the pictures were taken that it was really badly showing so i had to get my friend to take a better one. ALSO, excuse the terrible posture and facial expression. my mother was slightly irretating me while she was taking these pictures and im just not a morning person.

Yea, so I hope I get the job because I'm quite desperate for a new one. I need some money for college and studying abroad and other things of that nature.

First off, I think this blog will be mostly about photography, some fashion, and some personal stuff. Well, at least those are my intentions.

So, I'm here, blogging, because of many reasons.

1) I follow a few blogs and it'll be easier to follow them if I have an account.

2) It's a good way for me to get used to talking about my photography, art work, ect. It's an important skill to learn, especially for college, ya know?

3) I love taking about vintage clothing and things of that nature. I don't have many girl friends (friends that are girls...) so I don't get many oppurunities (by the way I'm terrible at spelling, get used to it) to share the excitement of finding new vintage treasures with.

4) I dont know, there's more reasons but those were the main ones.

Okay, I guess I should share some personal stuff now right?

1)This is me:

2)I have a boyfriend. As shown here:

his is Brian. He makes me smile. Hehe. Oh, and he doesn't mind watching i-carly with me so he's a keeper.

3) I have a very cute dog. As shown hheree:

Her name is Riley. This was taken on the weekend it snowed like 30 inches. She loves the snow.

4)I like photography. Heres a randomly selected photograph:

this was taken at longwood gardens of fall 2009. i use a nikon d200. this particular picture was taken with a macro lens, obviously, and i believe i used this in my portfolio when applying to college.

My favorite kind of photography would be portraits. I have trouble finding models though. SO IF YOU EVER WANT YOUR PICTURE TAKEN LET ME KNOW BECAUSE I"D LOVE TO DO A SHOOT WITH ANYBODY. Really, it's true so don't be shy to ask =]. I need all the practice i can get. I love doing vintage inspired shoots too. I also really like taking pictures of flowers, hence this flower picture. Going to the zoo to take pictures is fun too but its extremely exhausting.
